2016年第1回より英検準1級の英作文の問題形式が変更されます。.2級の変更については以前ご紹介した通りです。

 

課題は120～150語程度のエッセイになります。英検サイトで公開されている以下のサンプル問題では、トピックに関して賛成、反対を述べるものでポイントが用意されております。受講生の解答例をご紹介します。なお、ネイティブスピーカーによる添削を行い一部修正しています。

 

Small, independent shops and businesses can survive in modern society?

I agree with this idea. I have two reasons to support my opinion.

 

First, small businesses such as shops and restaurants usually have better service than big companies. In a big business, such as a chain restaurant, whoever is working at that time can provide service to the customer, which means the particular task has to be easy enough for anyone to do it. However, in a smaller business such as a small restaurant, for example, only the restaurant’s owner is able to prepare a better product(deliver a better order) that not everyone can do. The availability is limited although it’s satisfying.

 

Second, their customer services are usually better because there are fewer customers. So they can be served more responsively.

 

With this belief small shops and businesses can get benefit in the future.
